The job

The president uses AI as an assistant to write his monthly 300 word staff newsletter article. He also built a custom Claude project, the Mosby Business Advisor, by answering guided prompts on values, goals, target market and the management team and uploading the employee manual, financials and employee reviews. Each of the 12 managers uses it for advice grounded in the business. A separate set-up checks scopes of work from the 13 salespeople for grammar problems and conflicting information before they go to clients.

What happened

The monthly staff newsletter article fell from 45 to 60 minutes to five minutes.

He says he spent about 70 hours building the advisor. Subscriptions cost about $450 a month, plus $500 a month for the AI learning cohort he joined.

Before you believe it

President Mark McClanahan wrote this himself. The saving is for one monthly task, and he gives the build time as both about 70 hours and 70 to 80 hours, so weigh that against about 50 minutes saved a month. He does not say which AI tool writes the newsletter. The scope checker and the managers advisor have no result figures.
